WORK ON YOURSELF
ACTING WORKSHOP & DOCUMENTARY

We are talking about acting here, not only for film, TV or theatre,
but ACTING as a form of art that needs to be adjusted to all possibilities.  
Body and Voice ready. Mind and soul placed.

To be prepared means, not only to be aware of the 5 I´s, Instinct, impulse, intuition, imagination and intellect.
It is about being prepared as an individual to become an actor.
Its about the "I".

For two weeks trough the words of PESSOA you will find endless possibilities -when talking- about YOUR resources.
Cause primarily everything is in YOU, other voices and bodies, even other minds or souls.
We are multiple. There´s 72 ways of doing, saying or be.
And when you get to the 72th you will understand what PESSOA meant when he said…

“The poet is a faker
Who's so good at his act
He even fakes the pain
               Of pain he feels in fact.”                
                                                                          …and you´ll keep moving.

Instead of working randomly on scenes, parts of a play or a script, we focus on PESSOA´S work.

Strasberg, Meisner, Adler or Hagen?
Every each one of this "method´s" and "technique´s" are today´s inspiration
for actors and directors all over the world.
Why? Cause they make sense. Cause it works.
And, as you and me, and since Stanislavski, they change methods and techniques all the time,
because the necessity of adjustment is constant.

Be ready to change. Be prepared to work.

I know that at first I will not find the Tom´s, Carol´s or Ryan´s in front of me.
But I do know, that at some point, I will find YOU. And then we multiply, with your own voice,
your own sense of truth.

This workshop is for professional actors.  
Professionals that need to create and multiply every day.
Professionals that need to be aware and understand the creative process.
On a blank page, first line of a character or just to exercise any kind of creation.

Be ready to work hard.

At the end I hope that you all understand the meaning of “Saudade” a Portuguese word without translation
that in some way expresses loss mixed with the anxiety of the new.

Only 14 actors will be invited to participate.
10 days of 6 hour classes each day.
